Quick answers for families interested in the Western Wisconsin North Stars, Western Wisconsin Nova, and Total Development programs.

Where will the programs play out of?

The programs will play out of River Falls, WI at the Wildcat Center.

Are Minnesota players allowed to try out?

Yes. Even though the programs are called Western Wisconsin, players from Minnesota and surrounding areas are welcome to register and try out.

How much is the tryout?

Tryouts are $25 per player.

What should be included in the Venmo payment note?

Please include the player’s full name and birth year in the Venmo payment note. Example: John Smith - 2016.

When does registration open?

Registration opens July 1.

How much is the AAA program?

The program cost is $1,500 for selected players.

How many tournaments are included?

The program includes 4 total tournaments.

How many practice hours are included?

The program includes 24–30 total hours of practice time.

Will players have June and July off?

The programs are designed with June and most of July off.

How will team placement be communicated?

Team placement and follow-up communication will be sent to families using the contact information submitted in the registration form.

What is Total Development?

Total Development is a summer hockey school focused on on-ice development, small-area games, off-ice footwork, decision-making, coordination, and outdoor play.

What is Western Wisconsin Rising Stars?

Western Wisconsin Rising Stars is a mite hockey development program for boys and girls ages 4–8 at the Wildcat Center in River Falls, Wisconsin.

Is joining the Rising Stars interest list a commitment?

No. Joining the interest list is not a commitment and is not a completed registration. It helps us plan days, times, group sizes, and communication.

What are the Rising Stars groups?

New Stars is for beginners and first-time skaters. Rising Stars is for players ready for more puck skills and small-area games. Players are placed by experience and ability, not strictly by age.

AAA Register / Pay Total Development Sign-Up

Is the $25 AAA tryout fee refundable?

The $25 AAA tryout fee helps cover the tryout process and is not automatically refundable. If you have a unique situation, please email wwnshockey@gmail.com.

When is the $1,500 AAA program fee due?

The $1,500 program fee is not due at tryout registration. It becomes due only if your player is selected, accepts a roster spot, and final payment instructions are sent.

What happens if my player is not selected for North Stars or Nova?

If your player is not selected, the tryout registration does not become a full program registration and the $1,500 program fee is not owed.

Is Total Development payment due right away?

Submitting checkout information saves your spot request, but payment still needs to be completed through Venmo. Your spot is not fully confirmed until payment is received and matched to your checkout information.

Can families choose partial weeks for Total Development?

Yes. Families can use the website sign-up/checkout page to select the option that best fits their schedule, including available weekly, two-day, drop-in, half-day, or package options.

What happens if my player misses a Total Development day?

Please email wwnshockey@gmail.com if your player will miss a day. Missed-day options may depend on schedule, availability, and the registration option selected.

Is Rising Stars a registration or just an interest list?

Rising Stars is currently an interest list only. Joining the list is not a commitment and is not a completed registration.

When will Rising Stars dates, times, and pricing be released?

Dates, times, and pricing are coming soon. Families on the interest list will receive updates when official registration details are finalized.

Does my Rising Stars player need full hockey equipment?

Yes. Full hockey equipment will be required for Rising Stars because players will be participating in on-ice hockey development sessions.
